# Navy IR Deck

## Overview
The generalized craft of investment-banking IR and earnings decks, stripped of any firm's identity. Slides are full-bleed **deep navy** — the navy is the stage, not a background accident — carrying off-white text. The single chromatic voice is **metallic gold**, and it appears only as a 0.5pt hairline, a small uppercase label, or the one key series in a chart; it is never a large fill or a button. Headings are a conservative **transitional serif**; financials are **tabular monospace** numbers, right-aligned. Every slide closes with a mandatory bottom-right disclaimer + pagination footline. "Serif authority on navy, gold only as a hairline" is the whole identity.

## Colors & Roles
Canonical mode is **dark**: `background` is deep navy (#0A1A33) on every slide, `foreground` off-white (#E8E5DE). Panels (`card`/`popover`) are panel navy (#1F3A5F); `secondary`/`muted` are subtle navy steps (#0D2038 / #122744) lifted just off the stage. `muted-foreground` is the cool secondary text (#9AA6BC) for captions, footnotes, and de-emphasized figures. The one chromatic role — `primary`/`accent`/`border`/`input`/`ring` — is all **metallic gold** (#C8A24B → oklch 0.730 0.114 85.6): gold *is* the hairline, so the shadcn `border` token carries it. `destructive` also maps to gold — the palette is chromatically closed, with no red (emphasis is the gold hairline, not alarm color). `chart-1` is gold (the single key series); `chart-2..5` are off-white and navy lightness steps, so series separate by lightness and only the emphasis series is saturated. The **light** map is an authored ivory/navy adaptation (background ivory #FBFAF6, text and chart neutrals in deep navy, gold darkened one step to #B9922E for contrast on ivory); it is derived, not part of the source pack.

## Typography Rules
Two families plus a mono. Headings and 40pt KPI hero numbers use **Source Serif 4** (transitional serif, Google Fonts fallback: Source Serif 4; system fallback Georgia/Times) — serif is the authority signal and headings must never be sans. Body, section labels, and financial tables use **Inter**; Korean is **Pretendard** (fallback Noto Sans KR). Monospace (**IBM Plex Mono**) carries TOC numbers, timeline date axes, and diagram step numbers. Deck type steps, in pt on a 13.33in × 7.5in canvas: heading 26pt / semibold / 1.2, on a baseline fixed deck-wide; section label 11pt / medium / +0.08em / uppercase / gold; body 17pt / regular / 1.4, ≤6 lines per slide; table header 11pt / semibold / uppercase / +0.06em; table number 14pt / regular; KPI 40pt / semibold serif; disclaimer 8pt / mid-blue. Table numbers and KPIs require tabular figures (`font-variant-numeric: tabular-nums`). Emphasis within a heading is gold color, never an enlarged mid-sentence word.

## Layout Principles
16:9 canvas, strict 12-column grid, 0.2in gutters. Fixed outer margins — 64px left/right/top and a footline baseline fixed at 64px, identical on every slide, no drift. The **header band** (gold section label → 26pt serif heading → full-width 0.5pt gold hairline) tops each slide; the body zone runs dense in the IR manner: a 7:5 split (chart/table left, KPI/commentary right) or a three-tier stack (full-width multi-year chart + financial table + KPI strip). Real earnings pages are information-dense — fill ≥88% of the canvas with three or more modules; never let dead navy pool in a corner. Footer: a content-width 0.5pt gold hairline over a bottom-left disclaimer and bottom-right page number.

## Depth & Elevation
Completely flat. No shadows, gradients, glow, glass, noise, or blur — ever. Division and containment are done with 0.5pt gold hairlines (or 1px navy rules); prominence is the single gold hairline/label or a navy panel fill. Gold is never a filled surface.

## Shapes
Zero border-radius everywhere — panels, table cells, chart bars, number badges. Borders are a 0.5pt gold hairline or a 1px navy rule. Icons are rare; if used, a single 1pt thin gold line stroke. Diagram connectors are 1pt thin chevrons with restrained arrowheads.

## Component Stylings
- **Header band**: uppercase 11pt gold section label above a 26pt Source Serif 4 semibold heading (baseline fixed deck-wide), closed by a full-width 0.5pt gold hairline. Left-aligned.
- **Financial table**: tabular numbers right-aligned; header row only is 11pt uppercase with a 0.5pt gold bottom rule; 1px navy row rules between rows; the total row gets a 0.5pt gold top rule and bold; at most one cell/row is gold text. Currency unit is stated in the header.
- **Chart**: gold key series + off-white + navy lightness steps only. Multi-year trend = 1pt polyline with 0.1in circle markers; comparison = vertical bars (bar:gap 3:2, radius 0); share = 100% stacked or a single donut. Gridlines are 2–3 y major ticks (0.5pt navy) only; axis 0.75pt #3A5A85; no border box, no legend box — direct 14pt tabular value labels at line/bar ends. Baseline always at 0 (a truncated y-axis distorts financials). Render precisely as SVG.
- **KPI card**: navy panel + 0.5pt gold hairline — 11pt uppercase label top-left, 40pt serif off-white figure, 14pt gold YoY delta. 3–4 per slide, separated by gold hairlines.
- **Footer / disclaimer**: content-width 0.5pt gold hairline; bottom-left 8pt disclaimer, bottom-right 8pt page number — mandatory on every slide. Data slides add a 9pt source/currency/as-of footnote bottom-left.

## Motion
Subtle. Gold hairlines and table rows fade in over 220ms ease-out; the slide body is an instant cut. No glow, slide motion, or parallax — the static serif authority is the point.

## Do's and Don'ts
**Do:** keep gold to 0.5pt hairlines, labels, and the one key chart series; set headings and KPI numbers in transitional serif; right-align tabular financials with gold header/total rules and a stated currency unit; always add the bottom disclaimer + page number (and source footnote on data slides); keep chart baselines at 0 with direct labels; fill content slides with three or more modules.
**Don't:** use gold as a large fill or button; set headings in sans; add gradients, glow, shadows, rounded corners, or emoji; omit the disclaimer footline; truncate a chart y-axis, use 3D, rainbow palettes, excess gridlines, or legend boxes; float one lonely chart in empty navy; reproduce any real financial institution's name, logo, or actual slides.

## Slide Anatomy
- **Cover**: deep navy full-bleed; top-left gold uppercase label (`INVESTOR RELATIONS · FY2025`), a serif title left-aligned in the upper 40%, a 0.5pt gold hairline + subtitle beneath, and a right navy meta box (gold hairline) with monospace ticker / reporting-period / call-date rows. Footline at bottom.
- **Agenda**: gold label + serif heading + rule; left seven columns hold a TOC (monospace gold 01–NN numbers + serif item names + dotted leaders + page numbers, gold hairlines between); right five columns hold a mini-KPI panel of three headline figures.
- **Financial highlights (body)**: header band + a lead line; left commentary (≤4 lines, key phrase gold) over a mini financial table; right two tiers — a 4-up KPI grid over a supporting bar chart with one navy-panel annotation callout.
- **Multi-year chart (exhibit)**: header states what the chart proves; left seven columns hold the main trend line (gold key series, off-white comparison, direct tabular labels, callout boxes at inflections); right five columns hold a raw-figure table over a KPI summary strip (CAGR / 5Y / YoY). Source/currency footnote mandatory.
- **Segment comparison**: a full multi-column financial table (gold hairline grid, uppercase header + gold rule, tabular right-aligned cells, winning segment row in gold, total row gold rule + bold) beside a 100%-stacked or single-donut share and a verdict callout.
- **Timeline**: horizontal 0.75pt axis, phase bands, 0.12in gold-outline diamond milestones (current quarter gold solid), monospace date labels below and serif events above, a dotted gold 'today' marker, plus a quarterly mini table.
- **Divider**: navy full-bleed with a giant 90pt serif gold-outline section number, a 26pt serif section name, and a 0.5pt gold rule.
- **Closing / outlook**: guidance body + next-quarter mini table on the left, a navy panel of three outlook KPIs on the right, and a small 8pt forward-looking-statement disclaimer paragraph in the lower quarter.

## Agent Prompt Guide
> Build this presentation in the 'Navy IR Deck' style: full-bleed deep-navy 16:9 slides with off-white text, each opening with a header band — an uppercase 11pt gold section label, a 26pt transitional-serif (Source Serif 4) heading on a fixed baseline, and a full-width 0.5pt gold hairline. Metallic gold is the only chromatic voice, used strictly as 0.5pt hairlines, labels, and the single key chart series — never a large fill or button (panels are filled navy). Headings and 40pt KPI numbers are serif; body and tables are Inter with tabular figures. Financial tables: tabular numbers right-aligned, uppercase header with a gold bottom rule, 1px navy row rules, a gold top rule + bold on totals, currency in the header. Charts: gold key series + off-white + navy lightness steps only, no legend box or excess gridlines, direct 14pt tabular labels, baseline always 0, SVG-precise. Every slide has a footline: a 0.5pt gold hairline over a bottom-left disclaimer and bottom-right page number; data slides add a source/currency/as-of footnote. Zero radius, zero shadows, no gradients or glow, subtle 220ms hairline/row fade only, dense three-module layouts. Never reproduce a real institution's name, logo, or slides.

## Known Gaps / Confidence
Adapted from the MIT-licensed design-diversity pack `ppt-goldman-ir-deck` — an authored spec, not an extraction from a live deck, so all confidence fields are `manual`. This is a ppt-track entry: the shadcn token mapping is a web-rendering convenience (pt-based type steps, 16:9 frames, `border` carrying the gold hairline), the canonical **dark** navy map comes straight from the pack palette, and the **light** ivory/navy map is an authored adaptation absent from the source. No real-firm assets are used or reproduced. Trademark care: the style generalizes IR-deck conventions and must not carry any real financial institution's name, logo, or actual slides.
